About Us

Established in June of 2013, Longboard Café is owned and operated by Rick Vach, a longtime Ocean City local with a rich family culinary background. Parents Dick & Mary Carroll owned the Quarterdeck and Wild Goose Chase restaurants in Ocean City in the '70's and '80's, and brother Josh owned and operated 7 restaurants in Wrightsville, North Carolina. Sister Martha provides all the desserts for Longboard Café and several other local restaurants. Rick operated Island Time Café in the Sunset Island community for six years prior to launching Longboard Café, and also created the popular but short lived Avalon Market Gourmet Store in West Ocean City. With the new re-model and expansion, we have added a small gourmet market with all sorts of fun culinary items including our popular house sauces and dressings.

The management team includes Culinary Director & Kitchen Manager Meg McCullough, General Manager Shana Myers, Dessert Chef Martha Redding and Beverage Manager Larry Redding. Longboard is open 7 days a week in-season for lunch and dinner. Closed Tuesdays off-season, and closed a few days over the holidays and a week or 2 in early January.

Reservations Recommended

Longboard has grown to become one of Ocean City's most popular destinations with consistently high ranking and ratings on all review sites. The menu is diverse and unique, with offerings not typically found elsewhere locally. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, the staff friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is fresh and flavorful. Because of its relatively small size, the restaurant fills up quickly so reservations are not only accepted, they are strongly recommended.
